Q - How do I know this is a legitimate booking site?
A - Our booking website is connected to Airbnb and VRBO, where you can book and pay directly with those sites for our holiday home if you prefer, though you will have to pay a booking premium when you book with them. Another reason is where you can pay by debit or credit card when you book direct with us, which means we have a merchant account with our bank, something you can't have if you are not a legitimate website!
Q - Is my online payment secure?
A - Yes, we only accept payment by credit or debit card which you pay directly with our online payment cards processor, so you don't pass out your card details. Note - In general - For your protection, the best way to pay is by credit card, as your card provider will cover your purchases in the event something goes wrong!
Q - How can I pay for the holiday home rental booking?
A - You can pay for your booking by credit or debit card. We will send you an invoice for either the deposit, balance outstanding or the full amount which allows you to pay securely online.
Q - How much deposit do I have to pay?
A - We take a 50% deposit when you book and the balance is then due 56 days prior to your arrival date. If your holiday dates are booked within 56 days of arriving, then the full balance is then due to be paid at the time of booking. Special Offer - For holidays booked that take place in 2022, you will only have to pay a deposit of £75, helping people and families budget better for holidays in these uncertain times. Q - Are there Covid restrictions for entering Spain?
A - Currently you have to complete a Health Travel Control form and be fully vaccinated - See full details here
Q - What if I need to change my holiday dates or cancel due to one or more of my booking party becoming infected with Covid?
A - If you need to cancel your holiday booking or change your booked dates due to government implemented travel restrictions, OR if you are unable to travel due to you or a named member of your party having a Confirmed Positive PCR test result, we can either change the date of your booking to dates that suit you or offer a full refund for your booking (proof of the test result will be required). To ensure you qualify for a full refund you must contact us at least a full 48 hours before your arrival date and time to receive the refund.
Q - Can I book La Calahonda through Airbnb VRBO (formerly Owners Direct/Homeaway)?
A - Yes you can book via Airbnb or VRBO, but you will have to pay their 10-15% booking fee. Find out booking links - Here
Q - Where is the closest airport?
A - Malaga is the closest airport. Travel time to the airport is approx 25 mins by car/taxi.
Q - Are there transport links to the holiday home from the airport?
Q - There are many ways to transit to and from the airport. Private taxi and shuttle buses can be booked through many companies. We have used the online company Hoppa many times without any problem. Look out for their discount codes. There is a train service from Malaga Airport, that runs as far as Fuengirola, then you can jump on the bus for the 20min journey to Calahonda. Hiring a car is popular, but only more economical if you are looking to get out and see the wider Malaga province.
Q - Are there local buses for getting to other towns and resorts on the coast?
A - There are buses that run through Calahonda to Marbella/Puerto Banus heading west and then heading east to Fuengirola. Buses stop in the towns and villages en-route and are very inexpensive.
